#THATSWHATSHESAID: TARA SOWLATY, HOW YOU GLOW

The start of a new month, and creep (that seems like a sprint) into a new season felt like perfect timing for a feature on feel-good guru Tara Sowlaty of How You Glow.

The market may be packed with quick fixes for health and beauty, but her inside out approach for getting your glow is effective, accessible, and pretty delicious. She and co-founder, Jessie Groveman, touch on everything from lifestyle and healing techniques, to traveling in chicness. And, it's easier than ever for others to get in on the good vibes, with their edited shop of food and fitness plans, and the perfect collaboration clutch with Clare V.

Read on to know how Tara gets her glow ...

Q1: Best gift you received? Who gave it to you?

My boyfriend took me on a trip to Japan and it was a life-changing experience. It felt like a home coming! We’re both obsessed with everything Japanese, from the food (OMG… the food!), to culture, to design, to fashion, so it was a really magical experience for both of us :) I think I must have been Japanese in a fast life.

Q2: Best gift you gave? Who did you give it to?

This is a tough one, but one year I made my best friend Emily a rose-flavored cake made with lots and lots of love. It was a really special one.

Q3: Most meaningful project thus far?

How You Glow has been an incredibly life-changing force. To be able to share my point of view with others and see them respond to it is empowering and really rewarding.

Q4: Self talk motto(s) for staying motivated?

Learn the rules like a pro and break them like an artist— I love this saying because it embodies my personal belief in balance. Staying motivated means indulging in what I love with a purpose, always making sure to stay true to what makes me happiest. When you do this, you radiate goodness, and that goodness comes back to you

Q5: Pre-party rituals?

Candles, incense, and essential oils along with some good tunes always get the good vibes flowing before a night out.

Q6: Go-to outfit for a summer shindig?

Summer means flowy dresses for me so I usually throw one on along with a hat, and I'm ready to go!
