#THATSWHATSHESAID: SAM ANDERSON, GOOD THING NY

This week's visit to NY NOW was a sensory overload in the best way possible - the expansive Javits Center houses some of the best shows in the city, and this was my first time there not scouting fashion finds. The whirlwind of booths, maker meetings, and inspiration, made for one fun field trip.

I wasn't surprised to find the wares of Good Thing NY on display, considering that their aesthetic is equal parts on-trend and innovative -- it's like they know the things we all want, but haven't actually thought of (leave it to the pros, people!). When I approached Sam Anderson months ago to be on the blog, I was operating solely from the stunning images, and wonderful word of mouth. And, after getting to see things for myself, I couldn't be more excited to feature this talented lady.

I'm also still trying to figure out how I can rearrange my apartment to fit everything that I have my eye on. Can't have too much of a good thing, right?! Had to.

Q1: Best gift you received? Who did you give it to?

On my nineteenth birthday my parents sent me a cake from Pastiche, an incredible bakery in Providence, RI. My birthday is in October, and this was my first year at university. The cake was a stroke of parental genius - instantly, I had a bunch of friends! Needless to say we devoured the cake and then the party was over.

Q2: Best gift you gave? Who did you give it to?

For his 24th birthday, I got my boyfriend tickets to see an artist we both love. This was great because we were able to celebrate twice and enjoy the concert together ;)

Q3: Self-talk motto for staying motivated?

Staying motivated: It's cliche, but when I wake up in the morning and am paralyzed, deciding what best to do with myself (obviously this only happens on the weekend), I ask what I would do if I weren't afraid. Sometimes this can get me into a bit of trouble. . . but trouble can be very motivating.

Q4: Pre party rituals?

Generally, I just make sure I've eaten dinner and brushed my hair.
