Saying it with flowers is a lot more exciting when Katie Marx is involved. The Melbourne-based designer makes magic that has caught the sartorial sights of Design Sponge and White Magazine - aka the holy grail of all things lovely.

Aside from her obvious talent for styling, I also love the fact that this flower forager keeps things so grass roots, that aside from an Instagram, you're not going to be bombarded with her work on the web. And, for good measure, she's taken the feels one step further with Butterland, an event space created with her partner Greg Hatton.

The event planner in me values experiences, and it's easy to see that her work is something that you have to see to believe.

Q1: What was your first job?

Check-out chick!

Q2: What would you consider your big break?

Meeting and then working for Joost Bakker

Q3: Most meaningful project thus far?

Working on Butterland with my partner Greg Hatton. Turning it into a beautiful home and event space.

Q4: Self talk motto(s) for staying motivated?

I don't need a motto to stay motivated - the flowers keep me motivated!

Q5: If you had to define your work style in one word, what would it be?

Q6: If you weren't doing this, what do you think your backup career choice would be?

Q7: What's next? (Whatever that means for you)

Finishing renovating Butterland!
